Insights Juried Art Exhibition
The Insights Juried Arts Exhibition began as part of the Fergus Fall Fair, when works were shown in the Fergus Agricultural Building. In its founding year, 1985, the Elora Arts Council assumed the operation and funding of Insights.
Insights is held annually in the Exhibition Hall of the Wellington County Museum and is considered the largest and longest running art exhibit operated by a non-institutional group in Ontario. It is now one of the most important and highly regarded amongst all the annual juried art exhibitions in Ontario. Insights depends entirely on the support of our artists, volunteers and local community.
Insights is organized to encourage and honour excellence, high levels of accomplishment and innovative approaches to artistic expression in the work of local artists. To this end, jurors are drawn from the ranks of top art professionals, educators and curators. Insights support and respect for our local artists is an important objective in all aspects of the work of this volunteer organization. The Insights committee takes pride in creating an exemplary juried arts exhibition.
The collaboration with the Wellington County Museum has made it possible to present the show in beautiful surroundings and in a wonderful gallery.
IN MEMORY OF RICHARD PILON
The Insights committee would like to recognize the passing of Richard Pilon, a vibrant artist in the community and multiple award recipient at Insights. Our condolences to his family and friends. Richard was a passionate artist, lover of music and above all else, fun loving. He was especially passionate about his community, through his volunteerism with the Guelph Food Bank and all good causes in the Eden Mills Community.
This year's Works on Paper award will be named in his honour.
